How hard can that be? First, you lost your son. Next, you are being blackmailed by a person claiming that you are to be blamed for your son’s death. You need to give $25 million otherwise you story will be sold to the media, pointing at you as the prime suspect.

This is what John Travolta has to go through after his 16-year-old son’s sudden death. Travolta testified, Wednesday Sept. 30, 2009 against paramedic Torino Lightbourne- in trial for extortion.

Torino Lightbourne is a paramedic who treated Travolta’s son, Jett, who is suffering from autism and seizures which led to his death. The allegation is that Travolta had signed consent to have his son flown to the United States for treatment but later decided otherwise which resulted to his death at a local hospital.

Torino Lightbourne along with his accomplice Pleasant Bridgewater pleaded not guilty despite the evidence from Travolta’s attorney Michael McDermott who earlier conversed with Pleasant Bridgewater, secretly recording their conversation. McDermott played as if the Travolta family is willing to pay him in staggered terms, to pay $10 million in four years. Finally, when Lightbourne and Bridgewater agreed on this amount, according to McDermott, Bridgewater is set to email him the instruction on how the money will be wire-transferred.

With the recorded evidence, Torino Lightbourne and Pleasant Bridgewater will surely have a hard time proving themselves not guilty over this case.
